Today, I bring you Get Away from Her, You B----!

As described on the site:

Get Away From Her, You B----! is a green jelly base glow in the dark with a lighter green glass fleck shimmer. Inspired by the colors of the Alien movie poster and named for Ripley's fight with the queen alien in the final scene of Aliens.

I will be upfront, my glow in the dark photos suck. I don't know if my camera just didn't like trying to pick up the green or what, but I PROMISE YOU, this polish glows. In fact, I fell asleep waiting for it to fade, and it glowed at least 20 minutes.

Like the others, the base is fabulous and needed no shaking or anything. It went on like a dream. It dried super fast, which was impressive, because I put three coats over two coats Greenwich Village by OPI.

I left it without topcoat because I liked the semi-gloss finish. It looks so quirky and made me think of mermaid fins!

It glows green. I am so disappointed in my photographs!

It was definitely my favorite of the trio!

Apple Jack the Ripper - Chirality

I am honored and very excited to be bringing you another set of four reviews! Amanda of Chirality Nail Polish asked me if I would be willing to review the second half of her cereal killer collection!

Of course, I said yes! She was my first sponsored review ever, with the first half of the collection!  So, these polishes were provided to me free of charge for my honest review and swatches. (http://mommiesmanis.blogspot.com/2013/01/chirality-cereal-color-collection_28.html) 

I have been excited to show these off ever since she emailed me last week! Like the first half of the set, these have quirky names. I'm going to bet when they are listed on the site they will have some epic descriptions like the last ones.

I'm going to do four installments so each gets its own post. Otherwise it would be pretty photo heavy!

Part two is "Apple Jack the Ripper."

This is another milky white base with various shapes, sizes, and colors of green hued glitter. There's a pale chartreuse and a large holo teal circle, among others. It caught my eye first, because I love green! 

It's so much fun. The variety in shape and colored of glitter works really well together. The milky white takes on almost a minty hue as you build layers. I used three to test opacity. This is loaded with glitter, so application can get a little hard as you build. I had no issues with the first or second but the third got a little gloppy looking. I smoothed it over with top coat though and loved it.  I was worried I wouldn't get any of the large circles because the first coat provided none, but I let it rest upside down in between and had no issue the second coat!

Unfortunately, the holo-flares escaped my camera phone today, but trust me, they are there and very pretty!

If I Lose Myself - LynBDesigns

I am truly honored, and very excited to bring you a set of four blog posts in which I will feature four BRAND NEW polishes from LynBDesigns.  These were provided to me for my honest

review, and of course, oodles of photos (because I'm a photo addict).

I was going to put all four polishes into one post, but... I just can't! Or won't... 

First up, I would like to introduce you to "If I Lose Myself."

This is a creamy neon green with a subtle blue shimmer. I decided to try it first because I figured it would be the most difficult to photograph. I was right. The shimmer was shy for the camera, but I think I got it! Also, it is SO BRIGHT that my phone (what I photograph and blog with) was trying to equalize the white balance and was giving me zombie skin. Well, and the sun was misleading and it was pretty frigid outside. But, I persevered and got some great photos, I think.

Review: This goes on like a dream. It's almost like a creamy highlighter or glow stick to me. It dries quick. It has a somewhat satin finish, not high gloss, and I love it! I used two coats over a bright white base. I read somewhere (on Instagram (I'm @goghgreen by the way)) that if you use a white base, neon colors totally pop.  Yup. It's true. It looks a little more lime than blue tinted (as it does in the bottle) with the white base, but it's intensely vivid. I am certain it would glow like crazy under a black light, but I haven't owned one of those in years. I kind of want to now, though.  Anyway, it's super bright, and as is usually the case, my photos do not do it justice! Pardon the few missed clean-up spots and my dry skin.. 

Green and Gold and a Lesson!

I decided to be festive and attempt a St. Patrick's Day inspired manicure. Originally, I was going to do a few shades of green and add a gold shamrock.

When assembling supplies last night, I came to realize the only gold-ish polish I have is a glitter top coat. It's "24 Carat" by Kleancolor.

I have up on my original idea then, seeing as how I thought St. Pat's is a green and hold type holiday, and settled for what I will show you shortly, pledging to myself to get a gold polish so this dilemma can be avoided in the future.

I was telling my husband who, by the way, was doing a pretty good job pretending to care about my upcoming manicure, about this issue last night and he told me two surprising facts:

St. Patrick's Day was originally symbolized by blue.

Saint Patrick was not Irish.

I figured he was pulling a fast one on my and nodded along.

After researching, turns out this time he wasn't just messing with my head.

Had I known this, I would have done my original manicure in blues and silver, just to be different.

Alas, I decided on my simple green and gold.

Two coats of Zoya - Shawn, a dark army/mossy type green. Love. I can't say enough about Zoya's 4&5 opacity rated creams. I want to hoard them all!

Then I added one coat of the Kleancolor, I hadn't used it before (gold isn't really my color which is why I had the original issue), and was a bit sad as I layered it atop the green. It's got great coverage, goes on smooth and even, and is very gold. It has a few silvery-holo diamonds that were sparse in application. I wish there were a few more. So.., it was a bit of a letdown.

And then... I walked through sunlight rays in the living room and BAM! It's got some rainbow holographic effects! Wowza!

It's like a happy green grassy knoll where someone spilled a pot of gold and a rainbow shattered in the sunlight.

In miniature works, of course. Polly Pocket would have quite a scene.

I recall I purchased a set of these mini glitter toppers on sale at Hy-Vee (regional grocery chain) this winter and had never had them in the sun before.

Win.

As always, contemplating matte. But here's my shinyhappygreengoldrainbowy mani.
