Lonely Boy - LynBDesigns

I am truly honored, and very excited to bring you a set of four blog posts in which I will feature four BRAND NEW polishes from LynBDesigns.  These were provided to me for my honest review, and of course, oodles of photos (because I'm a photo addict).

These four neon polishes are part of a larger collection, to be released on May 15, 2013. There are four other polishes that will be part of the collection. There will be 8 total.

They will be available here:

I was going to put all four polishes into one post, but... I just can't! Or won't...

The final polish from the set I was given is called "Lonely Boy." It's my favorite of them all, I think.

This is a creamy neon cobalt blue with an assortment of glitters. My assessment is that there are holographic squares and large hexes, some holographic shreds, black shreds, and maybe some white ones? It's so creamy it's hard to tell in the bottle, but I think that's part of the fun!

Review: This is so creamy and rich. I used two coats over a bright white base. I read somewhere (on Instagram (I'm @goghgreen by the way)) that if you use a white base, neon colors totally pop.  Yup. It's true.

The glitters disperse well, but the large hexes are a bit stubborn and would require a bit of fishing if you were wanting them on every nail, I think. I had two on my left hand, total. The blue is pretty darn opaque, so even though there are glitters that are holographic, the photos didn't pick it up very well at all. But don't let that fool you: in person you can tell they are there! I'm kind of sad I didn't really catch the color flares, but I promise they are visible when wearing it! The glitters also lay flush to the nail and didn't seem to clump when I applied, which was great! I think it's the creamy formula, but I'm totally guessing.

The blue is so vivid it's incredible. If you've seen Essie - Butler Please, it's a neon version if hat, basically. It's fantastic. I LOVE it.

Shown below is in natural outdoor light, both shade and the sun, and one under my wall sconce. Pardon the marred tip of my pointer finger. I dropped something on the driveway and scratched it picking it up. Should have used my other hand!

So... which of these four do you like best?

For this third installment, I bring you "Sweet Nothing."

This is a creamy neon pink with what I would describe as mustard yellow, semi-metallic glitters in star, square, and hex shapes.

Review: This goes on mostly excellent. It dries quick. It seems almost like a jelly, and in some lights seems more transparent than others, I think.  I used two coats over a bright white base. I read somewhere (on Instagram (I'm @goghgreen by the way)) that if you use a white base, neon colors totally pop.  Yup. It's true.  I am certain it would glow like crazy under a black light, but I haven't owned one of those in years. I kind of want to now, though.

The glitters are a bit chunky, and on one of my fingers they didn't want to spread very nicely so I had there or four stars stuck in a group. You will want to use a top coat to make sure they are smooth. Though, if your nails are flatter than mine, it might not be an issue at all.

Somehow, the neon pink seems even more bright in dinner light. It's wicked cool! I show it in various levels of light outside and inside.

This one is one of my two favorites!

Second in line is "Set Fire to the Rain."

This is a creamy neon marigold with small, matte, red bar and hex glitter.

Review: This goes on nice and even. There's no fishing for glitter and they disperse fairly evenly and lie flush with the nail. It dries quick.  I used two coats over a bright white base. I read somewhere (on Instagram (I'm @goghgreen by the way)) that if you use a white base, neon colors totally pop.  Yup. It's true.

It looks a but bold and not as neon in the photos, but it's intensely vivid. I am certain it would glow like crazy under a black light, but I haven't owned one of those in years. I kind of want to now, though.

I was going to put all four polishes into one post, but... I just can't! Or won't...

First up, I would like to introduce you to "If I Lose Myself."

This is a creamy neon green with a subtle blue shimmer. I decided to try it first because I figured it would be the most difficult to photograph. I was right. The shimmer was shy for the camera, but I think I got it! Also, it is SO BRIGHT that my phone (what I photograph and blog with) was trying to equalize the white balance and was giving me zombie skin. Well, and the sun was misleading and it was pretty frigid outside. But, I persevered and got some great photos, I think.

Review: This goes on like a dream. It's almost like a creamy highlighter or glow stick to me. It dries quick. It has a somewhat satin finish, not high gloss, and I love it! I used two coats over a bright white base. I read somewhere (on Instagram (I'm @goghgreen by the way)) that if you use a white base, neon colors totally pop.  Yup. It's true. It looks a little more lime than blue tinted (as it does in the bottle) with the white base, but it's intensely vivid. I am certain it would glow like crazy under a black light, but I haven't owned one of those in years. I kind of want to now, though.  Anyway, it's super bright, and as is usually the case, my photos do not do it justice! Pardon the few missed clean-up spots and my dry skin..
