Ellagee - Redshirt

Today, I will share with you the second if the three mini polishes that Laura if Ellagee so kindly sent me for review.

All of the ellagee polishes can be purchased at-
http://www.ellagee.com

Let me introduce you to Redshirt.

As described on the website:

Redshirt is a clear base with small red, black, and gold hex glitters. Inspired by those unfortunate souls in the red shirts on the crew of the Enterprise.

I decided to layer one coat of ellagee -Redshirt  over two coats Zoya - Mira. I don't know what inspired me to do the fun red and purple combo, but afterward, I imagined it was a great look for the Red Hat Society ladies. Haha. That said, I really like it!

I had issues being selective with photos, so... You get to see almost all of them that I took today.

This glitter polish went on awesomely. I only needed one quick coat and it had very even and glitter-loaded coverage. It dried quickly and pretty smooth considering the load of glitter on the nail. I did give it a top coat for added gloss.

Oh yeah, and as I mentioned yesterday, the base she uses is thick and it required no shaking or swirling at all! I LOVE that.

I have no complaints on this polish. I think I would like to wear it over a cobalt blue or black also!

I've got a date with super heroes.

Laugh all you want, but the title is true. Tonight, I'm dating both Spider-Man and Superman!

Okay... Maybe I'm really going to a Go Fish concert with my husband and sons, but kids who dress up like superheroes get a free glow stick. So, I'll be bringing a 2.5 year-old Spider-Man and a 9 month old Superman.

I'm pretty excited, so, I decided to do a superhero inspired manicure for the event. I will not get a glow stock, but I don't need one anyway. I know Collin will share.

The polishes used in this manicure were all purchased by me, with the exception of Daring Digits (www.ddpolish.com) All Peppered Up, which was given to me as a free gift with purchase.

To begin, my ring finger was painted with two coats Sally Hansen Golden-I. (I lie, the middle was too, but I smudged it and decided to change it...)

My pinky is Zoya Asia.

All other fingers are Savina Caribbean.

I stamped with MASH - 11, stars. Golden-I over Asia, Asia over Golden-I, and Golden-I over Caribbean.

Then, the nails I didn't stamp, I have one coat of All Peppered Up!

Voila!

My right hand is all Caribbean and All Peppered Up. I took a macro photo, but it's blurry because I couldn't hold still, and I forgot to clean it up, first.

Whoopsies.

Thoughts?!

Cherries Jubilee - Wonder Beauty Products

This polish was a free gift with purchase!

Today, I'm showing you Cherries Jubilee by Wonder Beauty Products. It can be purchased at:
http://wonderbeautyproducts.etsy.com

Jen describes it as:
Super delicious red Cherries Jubilee vibrant nail lacquer. You may need to resist the temptation of tasting this one! Stunning mixture of translucent red crelly (cream/jelly) base with dashes and splashes of shimmery silver dust, white translucent hex and garnet red glitters. Amazing when layered in 3 coats for a popping 3D effect!

I will say the jelly is definitely translucent. I tested it on paper and thought it would take many coats to be opaque, so I decided to layer it over Zoya - Gweneth which is a bright red, a cooler red hue. The listing says its a creamy jelly, so maybe it's been reformulated since I got it. I'm not sure.

Nope, it hasn't. I asked her. Now we know! It may just look a lot different due to my base color.

Dry time was excellent. Coverage was even and smooth! I used three coats over one coat of Gweneth, and then one coat of Nutra Nail Top Coat.

Shown below in outdoor shade, sunlight, and indoor light as well.

It's very sparkly. I wish I could have gotten a little of colorful sparkle that it provided in the sun!

Valentine's Nails

Another quick nap time manicure, in the Valentine's Day spirit.

OPI's "Meet & Jingle" is my go-to red, especially for the holidays. It's the perfect shade with the perfect amount of shimmer. I went with an accent nail today of Essie's "Leading Lady". I love the red glitter. So festive! Sort of reminds me of Dorothy's ruby slippers, too. :)

Here it is pre-cleanup. Because I'm too lazy to worry about that right now.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Pink and Red and Lacy Stamping! What?!

I'm hiding from my boys as I sit on the steps listening to them play happily. I bet it will last threes muted, so I will make this quick.

I'm not a girls girl. I rarely paint my nails pink. Dark red, not bright red, if red at all. I guess an occasional magenta is used or some bold other red pink hue... But definitely not pale pink. Not often.

Introducing my pink and bright red manicure, with a floral/leafy/swirly stamp on two accent nails in reverse fashion. I splurged on myself and used a bit of my new business profit to buy a set of MASH stamping plates. LOVE them! I couldn't decide what to stamp, so I made Desi do the final selection!

Zoya Gewenth is a creamy bright red that's a little on the cooler side of the color spectrum. Covered my blue stained thumb in two coats. Portia is the light pink. Also creamy. Took two full coats to cover.

Portia is my kind of pale pink, I decided, and I would have no issue wearing it plain. It's pale, but a bit dusty, a bit mauve. It's not Pepto pink. Not bubble gum. Not baby. I just can't do those colors. Nope. I've tried. They last a few hours and then they have to leave.

Portia didn't stamp very opaque over Gweneth, but I kind of love it that way. Had I not been nervous that I would wreck my other nails continuing to stamp (because the first four went on quick and wonderfully I was certain the odds were against me), I might have done them all.

But, here you have it, my girly stamping adventure that I ended up living. Might top coat it and preserve it a few days.

Scratch that. I won't. I want to try more stamps soon. Haha.

And... Cue Ollie fussing.
